Terms of Service

1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service govern your use of Sane (sane.coffee) ("Sane", "we", "us"), operated from Zürich, Switzerland. By using the site or creating a partner account, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

2. What Sane is

Sane is a curated map and directory that helps people discover specialty coffee roasters and cafés and see what's being poured. Listings are provided for general information. We are not affiliated with the businesses listed unless explicitly stated, and a listing is not an endorsement.

3. Accounts

• Partner and admin sign-in is passwordless: we email a one-time code. Keep access to your email account secure.
• You're responsible for activity under your account and for providing accurate information.
• Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been misused.

4. Partner content

If you're a partner, you can publish information about your business, such as your menu of the day, specials, opening hours and highlighted beans. You confirm you have the right to publish that content, that it is accurate and not misleading, and you grant Sane a non-exclusive licence to display it within the service. You remain responsible for keeping it current.

5. Acceptable use

When using Sane, you agree not to:

• Break the law or infringe anyone's rights.
• Post false, harmful, or misleading content.
• Scrape, overload, probe, or interfere with the service or its security.
• Misrepresent your identity or your relationship to a business.

6. Accuracy of listings

Coffee is seasonal and fast-moving: menus, prices, hours and availability change and may be out of date or contain errors. Listings are provided “as is”. Please confirm details directly with the café before relying on them.

7. Intellectual property

The Sane name, design, and original content are owned by us and protected by law. Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors and used under its licence. You may not copy or reuse our branding or content without permission.

8. Third-party services

Sane links to and relies on third-party services (for example map tiles, hosting and email). We are not responsible for third-party content or services, which are governed by their own terms.

9. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sane is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for decisions made based on listing information. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or remove accounts or content that breach these terms or harm the service or its users. You may stop using Sane at any time and ask us to close your account.

11. Changes

We may update these terms as the service grows. We'll update the effective date above and, for material changes, give notice through the site. Continued use after changes means you accept them.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland, and the courts of Zürich, Switzerland have jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer law in your country of residence says otherwise.
